Makana Livermore  has been dancing with SBS since the age of four, when her mom dragged her in kicking and screaming! Since then, dance has become (along with baseball) one of her favorite things.   She has been a member of the SBS Performing Co. and has taken Ballet, Pointe, Tap, and Jazz. A recent graduate of the University of the Pacific, majoring in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography, Makana is excited to be part of the SBS staff teaching Jazz and Tap and choreographing for the Performing Company.

Rachel T. Orimo  received her BFA with a major in Painting and Drawing in 2009 from California College of the Arts, Oakland and San Francisco.  While there she was the recipient of an All College Honors Award, the Mikae Hara Scholarship and has had solo and group exhibitions in the Bay Area and Stockton.  Rachel has designed recital program covers for SBS since she was 12 years old and has worked as an instructor for Young Rembrandts  in grades K-6 , a Para-Professional for Lincoln Unified and is now an Artist’s Assistant in Oakland. She is a member of the Stockton-based Punk band, Monster Treasure.  She will teach KidsArt Workshops.

Crystal Nguyentan  just recently graduated with a B.S. in Psychobiology from UCLA.  She danced at Stockton Ballet School for 12 years, training in ballet, jazz, tap, and pointe.  While at SBS, she was in the SBS Performing Company and danced in the Nutcracker put on by Capitol Ballet Company.  She was the Executive Director for ICARUS Contemporary Dance Company--a student run Contemporary dance group at UCLA, a research assistant for the UCLA Baby Lab and the Memory and Lifespan Cognition Lab. She is currently finishing up her prerequisites for pharmacy school at UC Davis and Cosumnes River College before attending pharmacy school in Fall 2018.  She is also working at CVS Pharmacy as a certified pharmacy technician.  Crystal will choreograph for the SBS Company.

Evelyn Barney  is a Physical Therapist and began her dance training in Stockton with Zeke and Muffie’s Dance Studio.  Her performance credits include shows at Stockton Civic Theatre, Asian American Repertory Theatre, S.J.Delta College and New Dance Company.  Since 2009, Evelyn has Choreographed for the Award Winning Saint Mary’s High School Theatre Department, where she has been nominated and won two Elly Awards.  Evelyn has also choreographed for Stockton Civic Theatre since 2011 where she has earned four Willie Awards and Elly nominations, most recently for Mary Poppins.  

Elaine Orimo, SBS's director,  has danced since she was 7, receiving training at area studios, workshops and seminars throughout California, and at the University of Utah where she was a Ballet Major.  She is certified by Infinite Dynamics to teach Pilates Body Conditioning.  Elaine teaches Ballet and Pilates Mat and Reformer Sessions.  Her choreography credits include development of full-length story ballets for SBS, Tintypes and The Secret Garden for Stockton Civic Theatre, Quilters, Dancing at Lughnasa for Circle Theatre Ensemble and A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream  with SBS dancers,  SCT actors and the Stockton Symphony, and choreography for  for the Stockton Chorale in 2015 and 2016.   She also teaches Pilates for Capitol Ballet Center in Sacramento.  In 2007 she was the Pilates teacher for the Paul Taylor West Coast Dance Intensive  held at UC Davis.

Nicholle Martel  has been dancing with SBS since the age of 5. She has taken classes in ballet, jazz, modern and pointe. After graduating from Cesar Chavez High School, she became their Guard Coach for two years. She graduated in 2014 with a BA from the University of Sacramento majoring in Psychology and Dance. She is now a school based counselor for Manteca Unified where she works with children in grades K-12.

Tiffany Martehas been dancing with Stockton Ballet School since the age of 3. She has taken classes in ballet, tap, jazz and pointe and was also a member of SBS Performing Company. She is a graduate of Cesar Chavez High School, and she is now a graduate of the University of Sacramento, where she majored in Journalism and Dance.   Tiffany was crowned Miss San Joaquin in January 2014. She took her tap talent (choreography by Evelyn Barney and costume by Elaine Orimo) to the 2014  Miss California Pageant.  Tiffany recently began working for one of our local California Assemblymembers.  She's always had a passion for dance and is excited for the new dance season.
