The Calendar

The 2012-2013 school year is divided into four 8-week-long quarters, numbered First-Fourth with the same class schedule. Our Summer Dance and Pilates Workshops are 4-week sessions with a separate schedule when all classes will meet twice per week. Tuition is the same as one quarter. Please see the calendar for quarter dates, tuition due dates and holidays.

The Curriculum

Dance Appreciation Program

Because a dancer's development is enhanced by all that she or he sees, it is important that students attend performances by other dancers. During the year, SBS students and their families will be invited to participate in field trips to performances by local and regional dance and theatre companies. SBS will coordinate group ticket purchases and transportation to out of town events. The schedule of events, ticket and transportation prices and information will be available as they are arranged.

The Productions

SBS offers our students several special performance opportunities during the year. In December, we invite our families and friends to attend our "Winter Show.” In addition, Stockton Ballet School dancers are invited to audition for a production of The Nutcracker in collaboration with Capitol Ballet Company of Sacramento. In June, SBS continues its tradition of producing Stockton's "Ballet for children, by chil- dren". Act II showcases our Tap and Jazz dancers. Our Company Dancers will be featured in both our Winter Show and our June Recitals. We will also add performance opportunities throughout the year as they become available. Participation in productions is not a requirement, but offers the students a chance to extend their training and appreciation for Dance through performance. Details will be given to each student as soon as they are available.
